Rainbow Reverie

Even when skies are gray, the beauty of life breaks through

Shimmering colors above, spouting gray whales below — even on a rainy Nature’s Coast day, much can always be found to elevate the spirit.

There are those who say, in fact, that if you are on the coast and not looking at something beautiful, check your pulse and call a doctor — you might be dead already. Locals will tell you there’s nothing like inclement coastal weather — when skies threaten, waves froth, and oh how the winds do howl — to quicken the pulse of life here. On some days, offering moments like the one depicted above, the ocean will dance and the sun shine even as raindrops fall, as if the coast were a pastel painting by an impressionist master, impossible not to admire.

Our only job? To be there. And admire.
